Thanksgiving is coming up quickly. Although I am already looking ahead to Christmas, planning our advent calendar, and gifts, I still love to make room for Thanksgiving. It never used to be a favorite of mine but now that we have begun hosting Thanksgiving in our home it has changed the holiday for me.

This year we will have seven adults and three kiddos around our table and we are so excited. I really enjoy entertaining and I’m learning how to cook. Lucky for us, after two years of a failed Turkey, my wonderful Father-in-Law will be teaching me how to do a turkey using the bag method. Everyone will be bringing some of their own dishes but I’m here to show you some of my favorite recipes and some new recipes I’m excited to try. I’ll be honest and tell you that these dishes are not diet friendly BUT as always you might be able to alternate things and make it a little healthier!

For Breakfast, this Biscuits and Gravy Breakfast Casserole is a great way to start the day (and keep people full). You can switch out the Pilsbury biscuits for these Cracker Barrell Copycat Biscuts.

This copycat of Ruth’s Chris Sweet Potato Casserole is a MUST. You can even make a dessert out of it by topping it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Emeril’s Andouille Cornbread Dressing is a great way to add a little kick to the tastebuds.

This Spinach Madeline from the Junior League of Baton Rouge can be an appetizer or side dish. Junior Leagues around the world are known for their wonderful and creative recipes, so I am excited to try this one.

Lastly, this Cream Corn with Bacon Crumble look sooo yummy!!

Before I forget, these hemstitched napkins will be on our table this year. Linen napkins are just so classic and add that homey feel I want.

  1. I had not been feeling festive about the holidays because we just moved across the country and don’t know many people, so THANK YOU, because this just inspired me to cook something yummy for just the hubby and I this year even though it is just to the two of us (instead of moping around). I am a huge fan of breakfast casseroles so I will definitely be including your bisquits and gravy recipe for a breakfast over the holidays! Thanks so much for sharing your recipes, as well as your authentic self in your turkey experiences!

  2. All of these dishes look amazing! I like the idea of a breakfast casserole to hold everyone off until dinner. I’m looking forward to having some time off from work next week!
