Thanksgiving is coming up quickly. Although I am already looking ahead to Christmas, planning our advent calendar, and gifts, I still love to make room for Thanksgiving. It never used to be a favorite of mine but now that we have begun hosting Thanksgiving in our home it has changed the holiday for me.
This year we will have seven adults and three kiddos around our table and we are so excited. I really enjoy entertaining and I’m learning how to cook. Lucky for us, after two years of a failed Turkey, my wonderful Father-in-Law will be teaching me how to do a turkey using the bag method. Everyone will be bringing some of their own dishes but I’m here to show you some of my favorite recipes and some new recipes I’m excited to try. I’ll be honest and tell you that these dishes are not diet friendly BUT as always you might be able to alternate things and make it a little healthier!
This copycat of Ruth’s Chris Sweet Potato Casserole is a MUST. You can even make a dessert out of it by topping it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Emeril’s Andouille Cornbread Dressing is a great way to add a little kick to the tastebuds.
This Spinach Madeline from the Junior League of Baton Rouge can be an appetizer or side dish. Junior Leagues around the world are known for their wonderful and creative recipes, so I am excited to try this one.
Lastly, this Cream Corn with Bacon Crumble look sooo yummy!!
Before I forget, these hemstitched napkins will be on our table this year. Linen napkins are just so classic and add that homey feel I want.
What is your favorite Thanksgiving tradition?
